Decontamination and Reuse of N95 Respirators (presented on April 10, 2020) was a webinar which describes a process for decontamination of N95 respirators using hydrogen peroxide vapor which was utilized to address the worldwide shortage of personal protective equipment due to the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Pandemic. The presenters discussed additional details of the decontamination process used at their institution. They also described the post-decontamination performance validation which was performed to show the efficacy of the process and that the respirator still functions as designed. By sharing these processes, the presenters hope to help other entities with access to Hydrogen Peroxide Vapor to evaluate the potential applicability of this technology at their facility or partner with those who may already have this capability. Presenters also answered questions on the logistics involved in collecting, processing, and redistributing the N95s within a large health system. Sanitization of Facilities Potentially Contaminated with SARS-CoV-2 (presented July 8, 2020) was a webinar that discussed different strategies available to decontaminate facilities that are potentially contaminated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causative agent of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). During the current COVID-19 pandemic, unknowing COVID-19 positive persons may potentially contaminate different facilities including lab spaces and office spaces with SARS-CoV-2. This webinar gave an overview of methods that are available to sanitize facilities. Though this webinar focuses on reviewing methods for sanitizing facilities potentially contaminated with SARS-CoV-2, the information in this webinar is also useful for sanitizing facilities that contaminated with other infectious agents.
