Q&A Infectious Substance Shipping

A distance learning opportunity
August 19, 2022

12:00 – 3:00pm (CDT)

Q&A Infectious Substance Shipping webinar provides an opportunity for participants to learn about recent changes to international regulations and interact with a panel of shipping experts. Regulatory experts from organizations including the DOT, InMark, and FAA have been invited along with a packaging expert from Saf-T-Pak to discuss hazardous material shipping. Participants will be afforded an opportunity to submit questions for the panel to review in advance. As many questions as possible will be discussed during the webinar. Questions not addressed will be collated, answered by the experts, and provided to all participants along with a transcript of the session.

OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the recent changes to the regulations affecting the shipment of infectious substances
  • Answer frequently asked questions related to infectious substance shipping
  • Locate contact information and familiarity with regulatory experts able to assist with future questions or shipping challenges
  • Identify the answers to detailed shipping questions and advanced topics that are not usually addressed in basic dangerous goods shipping courses

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This webinar is designed for people who are familiar with infectious substance shipping regulations and who have completed previous certification training. Participants should have experience with classifying, packaging, marking, and labeling infectious substance shipments. The expert panel will address questions and engage in detailed discussions with the assumption that all participants have a basic understanding and experience with IATA and DOT infectious substance shipping regulations. Depending on your employer and hazmat job function, this webinar could serve as refresher training. An electronic test will be administered as part of this course. ABSA cannot certify any participant for shipping. Only the participant’s employer may certify that the individual is trained.
