This course provides specialized and in-depth training that meets the requirements of US 29 CFR 1910.1030 for all professions\, (except healthcare and laboratory workers who also require Tier II Training below). Within all Tiers of our BBP course\, our audience is led by an infectious disease expert(s) with experience teaching how to mitigate the risks of exposure to BBP. Topics covered include but are not limited too: \n\nEmployer Requirements within U.S. Code of Federal Regulation (29 CFR 1910.1030) to provide a safe work environment in regard to BBP\nThe basics of BBP discovery\, routes of transmission\, prevention of exposure (pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical)\, symptoms/onset of infection\, and post-exposure procedures\nBegin to Identify workplace procedures that can result in exposure to BBP\nHow to implement controls to mitigate exposures to workplace BBP\nAreas of residual risk within ECP procedures\nElements required within a written ECP\nPersonal Protective Equipment Requirements\nHow to implement controls to mitigate exposures to workplace BBP\nAreas of residual risk within ECP procedures\n\nIn Tier II we build upon the lessons in Tier I and tailor the training for research/laboratory personnel and management. This Training is required for Research and Clinical Laboratories\, Meets OSHA’s Requirement for Annual Training for individuals working in an HIV and HBV Research Laboratory (up to (A)BSL4).
