DESCRIPTION:DESCRIPTION \nThis APHL webinar in collaboration with the American Biological Safety Association (ABSA) will delve further into the topic of mobile and temporary laboratories. Topics will include how they may be employed for preparedness events and disaster relief\, their ability to be utilized as BSL-2 and/or BSL-3 spaces\, and concerns with validation of operating parameters\, certification and commissioning. Experts with personal experience will discuss the usefulness of these temporary facilities\, various appropriate procedural applications and potential problems.  \nDownload FlyerOBJECTIVES \nAt the conclusion of the program\, the participant will be able to: \n\nOutline the potential facility concerns with the use of temporary and modular laboratories\nIdentify appropriate uses of temporary laboratories during a public health event or crisis \nDescribe the differences between validation and certification and commissioning of these spaces\n\nFACULTY \nBill Arndt\, PhD\, RBP (ABSA)\, senior scientist\, life sciences division\, Pond & Company  \nNatasha Griffith\, MS\, MPH\, RBP (ABSA)\, associate director of operations\, high containment laboratories\, Georgia State University \nAUDIENCE \nThis program is intended for biosafety professionals and anyone who works in or supervises a public health\, clinical\, academic or biotech industry laboratory. Research scientists\, engineers and other stakeholders involved in laboratory construction are also invited to attend. \nCONTINUING EDUCATION \nThe Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® Program and CPH-recertification.
