Arnold G. Wedum Distinguished Achievement Award Nomination Form

Requirements for the nominators and nominees are:

  1. The nominee must be a current member of ABSA or eligible for emeritus membership
  2. An individual may not receive the same award twice
  3. Self-nomination is prohibited
  4. Nominators must be members of ABSA
  5. Members of the Council or the Awards Committee are not eligible to receive an award in the year in which they are serving

The Arnold G. Wedum Distinguished Achievement Award is given to an active ABSA member, or emeritus, for outstanding contributions to biological safety accomplished through teaching, research, service, or leadership.

Forms must be submitted by June 2, 2017.

You must complete all sections. If any section does not apply to your nominee, enter “not applicable.” Consider what you would want the ABSA President to say about your nominee should they be selected for this award.


Contributions and Achievements:
Fully considering the award description, please describe the achievements and provide personal anecdotes or comments on why you feel the nominee is worthy of this ABSA Honor Award.

Describe this individual's outstanding contributions to biosafety through teaching. For example, include pre-conference courses, seminars, workshops, or formal or informal mentoring.

Describe this individual’s outstanding contributions to biological safety through research. For example, include research publications that apply to enhancing the field of biosafety.

Describe the outstanding contributions this individual has made to biological safety through service and leadership. For example, include service on ABSA Council, committee service, membership on editorial boards, and appearances before local, state or federal agencies.
